STARaCom held its Annual General Meeting in Montreal on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at McGill University’s Lorne M. Trottier Building. The event celebrated the Centre’s 20th anniversary. The attendees were welcomed by STARaCom director David Plant, as well as Benoit Boulet, Assoc. VP of Innovation & Partnerships, Viviane Yargeau, newly appointed Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Jim Nicell, outgoing Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, all of McGill University.

The morning program featured guest speakers from Xanadu, ventureLAB and CNRS, as well as research highlights from some of our members’ ongoing projects at McGill, Polytechnique and ETS. A team of STARaCom students lead a poster/demo competition in the afternoon, with 33 submissions competing for cash prizes provided by Keysight, Ciena, MDA and Marvell. The winning entries were:
